Champions For Learning is pleased to announce Night of Champions honoree, J. Richard “Dick” Munro, will also be the recipient of the 2015-2016 Heart of the Apple. Dick will be honored for the significant impact he 
has made on the learning environment for students in Collier County.
“All children are capable of learning. It’s so important that we support teachers and principals in their efforts,” says Dick.
Dick has been involved with Champions For Learning since 2008, when he began supporting student programs through Men of Distinction. His impact on Champions For Learning ranges from providing support for events such as Golden Apple and Night of Champions, to volunteering with students at our College Goal Sunday event. Dick has also been a part of the Take Stock in Children and Golden Apple Selection Committees.
Dick’s passion for education can be seen not only through his community involvement with the Community Foundation of Collier County and Fun Time Early Childhood Development Academy, but also in his continued dedication to Champions For Learning. By volunteering and serving on multiple selection committees and previously serving on Champions For Learning’s Board of Directors, Dick is leaving a legacy that will provide students and teachers with the support needed to thrive in their environment.
