There is certain to be a volunteer opportunity that fits your schedule and talents!

Volunteering is a wonderful way to meet others, learn more about the community, and give back to strengthen this place we call home. Whether it’s your year-round or seasonal home, we all share the desire to support our schools and make this the kind of community everyone wants.

Change the life of a high school student

There are a variety of volunteer roles and time commitments:

• College Goal Sunday/FAFSA Volunteer: Learn to help families complete the Free Application For Federal Student Aid (FAFSA) and volunteer for College Goal Sunday (each February).

• 11th-12th Grade Coach: Help small groups of students navigate tasks they must complete to achieve their post-high school goals on a periodic basis or a targeted week (Feb. 3 – 7, 2014).

• Mentor: Meet with the same student each week on school grounds during the academic year through the Take Stock in Children Scholarship and Mentoring program.

Volunteer opportunities in schools

Opportunities in schools vary from working directly with students to helping with general school activities and functions. As you will understand and appreciate, there is a screening process for volunteers to ensure the safety and well-being of students.

Volunteer opportunities with community-based organizations, including The Education Foundation

Our community is rich with opportunities to give back and continue to learn.  Whether you are a student looking to find meaningful volunteer experiences, or a community member wanting to volunteer to help families and young people in educational settings, you will be sure to find a fit!

Attention students/parents: Students who want their volunteer experience to fulfill Bright Futures requirements, should work with their respective schools to ensure proper approval and documentation.  Please note that Collier County Public Schools students must have volunteer sites approved in advance.  Click here to view the Collier County Public Schools’ student volunteer information form.
