Volunteering is a wonderful way to meet others, learn more about the community, and give back to strengthen this place we call home. Whether it’s your year-round or seasonal home, we all share the desire to support our schools and make this the kind of community everyone wants.
Volunteer Opportunities with Champions For Learning
College Goal Sunday/FAFSA Volunteer: Learn to help families complete the Free Application For Federal Student Aid (FAFSA) and volunteer for College Goal Sunday (February 22, 2015).
11th-12th Grade Coach: Help small groups of students navigate tasks they must complete to achieve their post-high school goals on a periodic basis or a targeted week (January 12-15, 2015).
Mentor: Meet with the same student each week on school grounds during the academic year through the Take Stock in Children Scholarship and Mentoring program.
College/Career Prep Volunteer: Help students on an ongoing or periodic basis with college and scholarship applications, essay writing, math, test prep, & foundational skills.
Classrooms in Action Volunteer: Visit assigned classrooms to observe the results of classroom grants, etc., on a periodic basis.
Conversation Leader: Help to lead table conversations at Connect Now Roundtables and other interactive sessions on a periodic basis.
Fundraising Volunteer: Share the mission of the organization and secure gifts for mission and programs. Teams will compete and work to meet their goals for the campaign.
Office Volunteer: Assist in the office with a variety of projects from mailing campaigns, phone calls, event preparation, program support, and more.
Event Volunteer: Help onsite at both fundraising and programmatic events to assist with event set up/break down, registration, raffle sales, help with deliveries and food pick-ups, etc.
Student Volunteer: Help with a wide variety of tasks, from office projects, to event preparation. Ongoing and short term opportunities.
