Established in 1990 as our founding program, opens the doors to our classrooms and gives the community an opportunity to see the great work going on in our schools. Every school year, a rigorous selection process is conducted by community volunteers to select 6 Collier County Public Schools teachers to be recognized for excellence in teaching. These Golden Apples, along with the Teachers of Distinction, are honored in a community-wide celebration of teaching, presented by Suncoast for Kids Foundation at the Naples Grande Beach Resort. Media partners WINK-TV and Naples Daily News provide ongoing coverage and support.
